Senior Platform Engineer for Circle Gas

DevOps, "Paved Roads," & Engineering Excellence

On Behalf of our customer Cirle Gas we are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to drive their DevOps and Infrastructure strategy. Unlike a junior role focused on task execution, this Senior role is about multiplying the effectiveness of others.

You will be responsible for creating "paved roads"—standardized, secure, and automated paths for product teams to deploy their services. You will lead initiatives in CI/CD, Security, and Observability, setting the best practices that will guide the wider engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure as Code Strategy: Architect and manage reusable Terraform modules that allow other teams to self-serve infrastructure safely and efficiently

Observability Leadership: Champion the reliability and visibility of our systems. You will lead the implementation of Datadog for monitoring, logging, and tracing across the org

CI/CD & Automation: Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, safe, and consistent delivery of software to production

Security & Compliance: Embed security best practices into our infrastructure and pipelines, ensuring we remain secure as we scale to millions of users

Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, break down complex projects, and influence the technical roadmap of the Platform team

Operational Excellence: Simplify the maintenance of production systems and lead the charge on incident response and post-mortem culture

Experience: Extensive experience in DevOps/Platform Engineering. You should be operating at a Senior level—capable of identifying impactful work with minimal guidance and driving cross-team improvements

IaC Expert: Deep expertise in Terraform (writing modules, state management, refactoring)

Cloud Native: Comprehensive knowledge of AWS (networking, IAM, security, serverless)

Tooling: Strong experience with Datadog (or similar observability stacks) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI)

Leadership: A track record of mentoring others and improving team processes. You don't just fix problems; you fix the systems that cause problems
