At Leica Geosystems, we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help drive the next generation of machine automation, autonomy, and precision.

What you'll do

Develop software for machine control and automation systems

Contribute to architecture, system design, and technical decisions

Develop control algorithms, machine guidance, and automation features

Work with sensor integration, positioning technologies, and state estimation

Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and product teams

Take ownership of key software components and drive continuous improvements

What you'll bring

Experience across the full software development lifecycle

Understanding of software architecture and object-oriented design

Experience with sensor fusion and state estimation

Strong knowledge of kinematic modelling and control systems

Nice to have

Embedded and real-time software development

CAN/CANopen communication technologies

Functional safety or safety-critical software

Cybersecurity and secure software development

GNSS, positioning, or machine guidance solutions

Experience from robotics, automation, mobile machinery, or heavy equipment industries

Build technology that helps construction machines work with millimetre precision

Work on real-world automation and autonomy challenges
