We are a small but growing company in the field of shipbuilding and repair located in the beautiful Faroe Islands. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Fitter Assistant to join our team and assist with various tasks related to shipbuilding and repair.
As a Fitter Assistant you will work closely with our team of experienced fitters to help assemble, install, and repair various mechanical systems on ships. This role requires a strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities Assist with assembling, installing, and repairing mechanical systems on ships
Read technical diagrams and blueprints to ensure accurate installation
Use hand and power tools to cut, shape and fit materials
Follow safety protocols at all times
Communicate effectively with team members
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
Proficient in using hand and power tools
Good physical stamina for working in tight spaces
Excellent attention to detail
We offer a competitive salary of $1000 per month with accommodation provided. Own visa candidates preferred. This is a full-time position with potential for growth within the company.
