Job Description

Are you looking for an internship that combines personal development and the opportunity to support the green transition through data-based insights? Are you passionate about working hands-on with data? Are you eager to turn your theoretical knowledge into practical and customer-centred solutions?

Here is what the job entails

In the role as our Intern in Data Science, you will participate in various projects while working hands-on with data from our meters and related software, systems, and services. Through data analysis, you will help generate insights that support utilities and contribute to the green transition.

More specifically, you will be:

Working with geographical, topological, voltage, and energy consumption time series data from distributed electricity meters

Applying physical modelling, data analysis, and potentially machine learning-based methods to real customer data and business cases

Exploring how meter data can be used to improve understanding of the opportunities, limitations and challenges of the electricity grid

Driving your own defined project with continuous sparring and feedback from colleagues

As our intern, you will be enrolled in various projects where your ideas and inputs create real value for customers. Throughout your internship, you will experience development opportunities through regular interaction with skilled colleagues, feedback from stakeholders, and the opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with practical business and customer challenges.

Meet your future team

With a direct reference to Director, Product Portfolio Management, you will join a dedicated team, currently consisting of 9 dedicated colleagues. Together, we are driven by our mission to help utilities handle increased electrification and the transition to a greener future through smart metering, grid insights, data analysis, and customer-centred solutions. With our diverse backgrounds, we combine deep technical expertise, practical customer understanding, while sharing a strong ambition to show how models and data can create real value. In the team, you will experience a collaborative and curious atmosphere, with room for both predefined projects and your own ideas.

Did you know? We use meter data to solve problems that most people do not even realize exist.

Less about us, more about you

We are looking for a motivated and curious Intern, who is ready to turn theoretical insights into practical solutions involving electricity grids, energy transport, and meter data. You are comfortable sharing your ideas and perspectives, challenging existing ways of working, and collaborating with colleagues across the organisation.

In order to succeed we imagine that you:

Are studying a degree in physics, engineering, data science, or a related analytical field

Possess strong theoretical knowledge and an ability to work independently

Have interest in data analysis, physical modelling, and potentially machine learning-based approaches

Can apply your analytical mindset to identify new innovative ways of working

As we are an international organisation it is important that you are fluent in English and Danish.

Whilst you may not meet all the qualifications listed above, this is an internship position, and we value curiosity and a willingness to learn just as much as experience. If the role interests you and you are motivated to grow, we encourage you to apply.

We offer more than just an internship

At Kamstrup, your contribution as an intern is highly valued, and we cherish the good colleagueship. Therefore, you will experience an internship with a strong focus on your individual development through challenging tasks, career sparring, voluntary courses, as well as social events and a large network. We are proud, that our internship program has resulted in Studenterhus Aarhus granting us with the Mentor Award, the Internationalization Award, the Jury's Special Award and the award for East Jutland's Best Internship.

Besides the best program, we also offer:

The internship is paid if your place of study allows it

Multiple internship events and weekly internship lunches

Employee benefits including a healthy canteen, fitness facilities, in-house dental clinic, hairdresser, and a free health clinic

An active employee association, that fosters a collaborative and supportive workplace community

Kamstrup is located in Stilling south of Aarhus, and bus number 200 takes you right to the door. It is a requirement that you can work onsite during the semester.

If you have any questions about the position, please contact Senior Director, Product Management - Electricity , Thomas Dezhkam Kristensen , on phone: +45 89 93 10 00.
