Software Engineering Manager (AI-Enabled Software Delivery)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a growing international engineering function within a technology-driven business undergoing significant digital transformation.

This role offers the chance to own engineering delivery end-to-end, lead high-performing teams across multiple European locations, and drive the adoption of AI-augmented software development practices.

You will play a key role in shaping engineering culture, accelerating delivery, and helping redefine how modern software teams operate.

The Role

As Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for engineering leadership, team development, and delivery excellence across multiple product teams.

Working closely with Product leadership and senior technical stakeholders, you will ensure that business priorities are translated into high-quality software delivery while maintaining engineering standards and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery across digital products, including roadmap execution, sprint commitments, release management, and operational excellence.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers across international locations.

Partner closely with Product teams to align engineering output with business objectives.

Drive adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices to improve team productivity and effectiveness.

Support technical decision-making alongside senior architecture leadership.

Promote engineering best practices around quality, observability, maintainability, and performance.

Manage team capacity planning, hiring, budgeting, and organisational growth.

Foster a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.

Required Experience

5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.

Proven track record of improving engineering productivity, delivery quality, and team performance through measurable change.

Experience implementing AI-assisted development workflows or agentic engineering practices.

Previous leadership of distributed or international engineering teams.

Strong technical background with the ability to contribute to architectural discussions and strategic technology decisions.

Demonstrated success in coaching and developing engineers throughout their careers.

Experience working within fast-paced product-focused environments.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
