About the position
GEA Process Engineering A/S is looking for a design engineer in the Engineering & Automation department. You will be joining a team of component specialists, who are part of the technical heart of the company. Here you will be in daily contact with project management and workshops to ensure the best possible production of our equipment. You will become a specialist within one of our Spray drying components. We work on executing projects from the order has been placed until the machine/component has been manufactured in the workshop and installed at customer’s site.
Your responsibilities and tasks
Your work will primarily be on adapting our 3D component templates to customer requirements followed by detailed workshop drawings with BOM for manufacturing purposes. Opportunities for improvements in your product area can also occur as you work in close collaboration with the product owner of these components, where you will be a part of executing the changes.
Take ownership of your projects from design to commissioning
You are hands‑on with your projects, from the component specification comes through the door, until the component is installed and in operation. This means that you are in contact with our workshops, both locally and globally, and that you collaborate internally with project managers, product owner of your components, the purchasing department, and our commissioning people. Your primary tasks will be:
Project‑specific design adaptation of our spray drying components via 3D models followed by manufacturing drawings in either AutoCad Mechanical (2D) or Inventor (3D)
Standardization, optimization and further development of our Spray drying components
Procurement / delivery preparation
Preparation of other documentation such as technical manuals, risk assessment, etc.
Inspection of components at workshops
Dialogue with the business and workshops for follow‑up on projects
Site support (Primarily during installation at site)
Supply chain and after sales support
The work will primarily take place on our location in Søborg.
Travel days to sites and workshops are expected to be around 0‑10 days per year.
Your profile and qualifications
To succeed in this role, it is crucial that you can work independently but also be a team player as many of the tasks are prepared across departments and it is therefore important to have good communication: We imagine that you:
Have a background as machine engineer, technical designer or similar
Have good experience within Inventor (3D)
Are independent, thorough and structured
Have knowledge and desire to be in contact with workshops that manufacture our equipment
Value cooperation and knowledge‑sharing with colleagues
Have full professional English proficiency (Danish is an advantage)
Growth opportunities
Regardless of whether you have little or a lot of experience, you can be sure that you will have the opportunity to develop yourself and your role at us. High demands are placed on your independence in this position, but it also means that you will have the opportunity to make a big impact on your tasks. You will also quickly experience that collaboration and teamwork are highly valued. To help you get off to a strong start, we will provide comprehensive support, including peer training and knowledge sharing with experienced team members.
