Software Developer
Are you passionate about developing robust software applications that automate workflows, power innovation, and support digital transformation in biopharmaceutical analytics? Alphalyse seeks a motivated and detail‑oriented Software Developer to join our Data‑Driven Innovation Department.
About the role
As a software developer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions that support internal scientific operations. You will help design new full stack systems and applications, enhance existing tools, and automate workflows across the organization.
In this role, you will collaborate with bioinformaticians, software developers, and end users. You should be able to translate complex data science problems and feedback from scientific project managers and technicians into actionable, user‑friendly solutions that meet the organization’s needs. We seek someone adept at understanding requirements, adapting to feedback, and turning these into practical software applications.
Your skills and experience
A master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field
Strong understanding of and experience in backend architecture and development
Hands‑on experience developing applications in Python
Familiarity with full application stack (UI, APIs, workflow engines, databases, containers)
Experience with Git or similar version control systems (e.g., GitHub)
Good communication skills in writing and verbal
Ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
Experience working in cross‑functional teams
At ease collaborating and communicating in English
Additional experience in some of these areas is an advantage
Docker, Kubernetes, or other container‑based deployment technologies
Workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake)
Database development and management (SQL/NoSQL)
Experience developing software that meets validation requirements for GMP‑regulated analytical workflows
Familiarity with computerized system validation principles
Knowledge of data integrity requirements and audit trail standards in regulated environments
Experience in proteomics
Experience integrating cybersecurity and data protection measures into the design and development of software systems and tools
