Concept Model Exploration Internship
Are You an Aspiring Concept Model Builder Looking to Discover New Play?
Join the LEGO® Group’s Play Discovery team within the Creative Play Lab for a Paid Internship at our Head Quarters in Billund, Denmark! Are you driven by an unquenchable passion for discovering new play opportunities through early-stage ideation, concept development, and prototyping? If so, you could be one of the talented students joining the Concept Model Exploration Team in our Play Discovery department this year, where sketch-building and concept exploration through bricks is your day-to-day!
About Us
Creative Play Lab is an ambitious, future‑focused innovation hub inventing radical new play opportunities and never‑seen‑before experiences for LEGO® fans of today and tomorrow. We grow the boundaries of what play can become, using bold experimentation, advanced technologies, and deep insight into how kids play to imagine meaningful, next‑generation experiences. Our mix of creatives, innovators, researchers, engineers, and technologists rapidly transforms curiosity into tangible concepts, redefining the future of play and ensuring LEGO® play remains at the forefront of creativity and joyful exploration.
As an intern in our Concept Model Exploration Team within the Play Discovery department, you’ll join colleagues dedicated to letting loose their creative curiosity and exploring new play experiences. You’ll unleash your imagination across a range of innovation missions, collaborating cross‑functionally to develop concepts into playable prototypes.
About Our Internships
In Creative Play Lab, we look for interns who bring something genuinely different to our innovation hub, adding fresh cultural insight, creative energy, and new ways of thinking. Your time with us will span personal curiosity projects, team capability‑building initiatives, and innovation Missions. Every day is different and you’ll learn directly from a world‑class multidisciplinary team as you build your craft, embracing ambiguity as you discover new play experiences.
Meet the Concept Model Building Exploration team. The Concept Model Exploration team works in Play Discovery to help turn the teams’ ideas into brick‑built prototypes. They work with existing LEGO® elements (classic, technic and DUPLO) to create concept models to demonstrate the minimum viable play of an idea. They work with other skilled inventors of different disciplines to integrate their innovative new digital and physical inventions into LEGO® model form to explore the future play potential of interactive LEGO® models. They leverage their expertise in structural, mechanical and play design to create amazing proof‑of‑concepts big and small and really bring ideas to life in brick form.
