Job Description

The Randers Public Library is seeking a part-time library assistant to join our team. This position is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in the field of librarianship or for a student seeking flexible hours. As a library assistant you will support the day-to-day operations of the library ensuring that patrons have access to all of our resources and services.

Responsibilities Assist patrons with finding materials checking out items and answering general inquiries

Maintain accurate records of borrowed materials and overdue items

Shelve returned materials and maintain organization of shelves

Help with special projects and events such as book clubs or childrens programs

Keep library spaces clean and orderly

Collaborate with other library staff to improve services and resources

Requirements High school diploma or equivalent

Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service

Attention to detail and ability to perform routine tasks accurately

Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a library or customer service setting

Knowledge of library classification systems and familiarity with online databases

Fluency in Danish or willingness to learn

Availability for evening and weekend shifts

Compensation This position offers a salary of 1700$ per month for 20 hours per week. In addition we provide accommodation options for those who may be relocating for the position.

Location The Randers Public Library is located in the vibrant city of Randers known for its rich cultural history and beautiful natural surroundings. This position is open to all qualified candidates regardless of nationality.
