Reliable infrastructure is the backbone of modern energy trading. In this role, you will help keep business‑critical trading and operational environments secure, resilient and connected across key technology hubs in Denmark.

You will join a strong, collaborative infrastructure team with an exciting future ahead, as we evolve our private cloud foundation and move further into hybrid cloud and broader cloud transformation.

About the Role

As a Network Engineer, you will operate and improve the private network infrastructure supporting trading, operational and data centre environments. The role combines hands‑on engineering with operational ownership, with direct impact on performance, security, resilience and compliance.

Responsibilities

Operate, optimise and maintain private network infrastructure across routers, switches, firewalls and connectivity services.

Support Cisco ACI and data centre networking platforms, helping ensure resilient and scalable services.

Configure and maintain Cisco Firepower platforms, supporting secure segmentation and policy controls.

Troubleshoot incidents in business‑critical environments and participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations.

Contribute to infrastructure projects, including SCADA‑related upgrades, network design improvements, private cloud evolution and hybrid cloud enablement.

About You

You enjoy working where reliability, performance and security matter. You bring strong hands‑on network experience, curiosity about how systems connect end‑to‑end, and a practical approach to solving complex problems.

You take ownership, collaborate well with others and care about delivering solutions that are technically sound, secure and fit for a fast‑moving business‑critical environment.

Qualifications

Solid hands‑on experience with Cisco ACI and Cisco Firepower, including routing, switching, firewalling and day‑to‑day operations.

Understanding of access networks and Cisco ISE, including identity‑based access and secure connectivity.

Understanding of enterprise and data centre networking, including segmentation across IT and OT environments.

Ability to design, build and operate secure branch office networks globally.

Experience with on‑premises data centres and resilient infrastructure services.

Comfortable working across compute, storage, virtualisation and Linux‑based environments.

Approach troubleshooting with structure, curiosity and attention to detail.

Ideally bring exposure to automation, scripting, SCADA, OT or regulated industries.

Collaborate across the wider Centrica Group global network community.
