Job Description

Join us in building a new research lab that develops and safety-tests AI tools for engineering work, running on local compute infrastructure that we build and control ourselves. You will be part of the team shaping the lab's research agenda, its infrastructure and its industry network.

You will work with us at the frontier of AI-augmented Systems Engineering, in close cooperation with our national and international industry, government and academic partners. Our goal: making the rigor of professional Systems Engineering affordable and available to all engineering teams.

Responsibilities and qualifications

Your overall focus will be to develop and validate AI assistants that transform semi-structured data into MBSE models and reason over machine-readable SysML 2.0 system models, delivering rigorous Systems Engineering (e.g. requirements, traceability, qualification analysis) at a cost and speed that ordinary engineering teams can afford. Your primary tasks will be discussed as part of the hiring process.

As a starting point, we are looking for passion and competence in the following areas:

Develop and validate AI models and harnesses that create and reason over SysML 2.0 system models

Design and run engineering pilots with Danish companies, measuring effects on lead time and project risk

Build up and operate the lab's local AI compute and validated model stack

Create local infrastructure for safety, security and reliability testing of mission-critical AI assistants

Co-supervise PhD students and supervise BSc and MSc student projects

Integrate AI-supported Systems Engineering into DTU's teaching

Publish in leading journals and conferences in engineering design and Systems Engineering

Contribute to external funding applications that grow the lab

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
