Job Description

Eurowind Energy is a global and leading developer, owner and operator of solar and wind energy projects. Based in Denmark, we are present in 16 different countries across Europe, and we are growing our portfolio each month. We believe in a future of renewable energy and we have an ambitious plan of becoming the next generations' "Power Major". Based on a full value chain from greenfield project development to energy trading, more than 700 team members are dedicated to creating a greener future fueled with nothing but renewable energy.

About the role

We are looking for a technical profile capable of covering both grid connection engineering and renewable energy project development in Spain. The successful candidate will work across the full project lifecycle from site identification and grid access applications to technical evaluation of evacuation infrastructure covering Onshore Wind, Solar PV, BESS, and hybrid plants (including wind–solar–BESS hybridization). He/she will collaborate with Business Development, M&A, and permitting teams, reporting directly to the Country Manager for Spain.

Key responsibilities

Grid connection, evacuation & renewable technologies

Design and optimize evacuation systems for Solar PV, onshore wind, BESS, and hybrid plants (PV + Wind + BESS), including CAPEX assessment and technical feasibility studies.

Coordinate with REE and Spanish distribution companies (Endesa, Iberdrola, UFD, e-distribución, etc.) to manage grid access permits and connection approvals.

Track and manage grid access and connection applications: submissions, follow-ups, technical queries and issue resolution with DSOs.

Assess the technical feasibility of wind energy projects: wind resource, turbine layout, network constraints and connection conditions, using tools such as WindPro.

Evaluate and manage hybrid renewable plant projects (wind + solar PV + BESS), ensuring technical coherence and optimization of the grid connection point.

Carry out or oversee electrical studies (load flow, short-circuit, stability) using tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

Oversee shared evacuation infrastructure agreements and coordinate with other developers at the same grid hub.

Support M&A teams in the technical assessment and grid integration of projects under review or acquisition.

Project development & permitting

Identify development opportunities for Solar PV and BESS projects through capacity map analysis and site assessment using GIS tools.

Monitor current energy regulations in Spain, with particular focus on solar PV, wind, and storage (BESS) projects.

Collaborate on the processing of Urban Planning Compatibility Reports with local authorities, and manage administrative permits at regional and local level.

Support the permitting department in tracking administrative deadlines to ensure projects progress on schedule.

Contribute to the improvement of internal tools to optimize project pipeline tracking and management.

Prepare technical documentation, risk assessments, and project reports to support decision-making and internal approvals.

Mandatory requirements

Degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years of experience in renewables in Spain (grid access and/or project development).

Knowledge of the Spanish electricity regulatory framework: REE, DSOs and MITECO regulations.

Proficiency in QGIS, Google Earth and AutoCAD.

Experience in grid access and connection permit applications with DSOs.

Good command of Microsoft Office and project tracking tools.

Nice to have

Experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar simulation tools.

Knowledge of WindPro, WAsP, OpenWind or other wind energy design tools.

Experience in hybrid renewable plant projects (wind + PV + BESS).

Knowledge of urban and administrative permitting at regional level.

Experience with SCADA systems in hybrid and wind projects.

Python for analysis and automation.

PVSyst for solar production simulation.

Technical English (for documentation and international projects).
