Associate Professor of Organisational Psychology
Department of People and Technology, Roskilde University, invites applications for a position as associate professor of Organisational Psychology from February 1st 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Department of People and Technology is the largest department at Roskilde University, researching human – society – technology interactions and covering e.g., health studies, sustainable transition, social interventions & entrepreneurship, urban planning, digital transformation, data science, work life studies etc. The position is linked to the section of Work Life and Social Sustainability. The section’s research focuses on social change, how it arises, is created, and how it affects people's living conditions, participation and working lives. We specialize in collaborative and participatory research. A special focus is on interventions in all types of organizations and workplaces, and how they enhance or reduce social sustainability.
The section is currently strengthening and consolidating its research and teaching in organisational psychology. We are seeking a strong international research profile who can actively contribute to the section’s research and teaching in organisational psychology while also contributing to broader questions of social sustainability.
The section’s research and teaching in organisational psychology is conducted in the context of the Centre for Organisational Psychology (CPO) and the master programme in organisational psychology (MPO). The research centre builds on a psychodynamic, system-theoretical frame of understanding, with an ambition of contributing to research in organisational psychology at an international level while also being a useful partner for Danish organisations. Similarly, the master programme builds on a psychodynamic approach to management and management development.
The ideal candidate is expected to play a leading role in the research centre while also contributing actively to the master programme and other relevant programmes.
Responsibilities and tasks
Applicants are referred to the university’s Faculty expectations for specifications on the required level of qualifications for associate professors at IMT within research, teaching, networking, fundraising, impact and outreach etc. The candidate for this position is expected to:
conduct and develop the Work Life and Social Sustainability Section’s research on organisation and leadership in and across a variety of organisational contexts from a group-dynamic perspective
develop and nurture relevant research networks nationally and internationally
lead and develop the research Centre for Organisational Psychology
develop and contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and problem-oriented education in relation to the master’s program in Organisational Psychology (MPO) and other relevant programmes
demonstrate academic leadership and citizenship in everyday life at the department and the section
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD degree or equivalent within a relevant field as well as research and teaching qualifications equivalent to what can be achieved in a successful assistant professor employment.
Qualifications within the following areas are required:
strong international research profile in organisational psychology with expertise in systemic psychodynamics
experience with interdisciplinary and problem-oriented education focusing on group-dynamics and systemic psychodynamics in relation to development of organisation and leadership
experience with development of education in the field of organisational psychology
experience with stakeholder engagement in research and teaching
fluency in Danish, since teaching is in Danish
The ideal candidate shall be enterprising and possess good communication skills and to be a visible, involved participant in the department’s daily activities, in addition to being willing to engage in disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration across the department.
Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates, consideration will be given to;
research topic,
scientific production and research prospective at an international level,
the ability to promote and utilize research results,
experience in teaching and education development and management,
basis academic experience, preferably including international academic experience, e.g. from reviewing or editing academic papers and/or from organizing research conferences or seminars,

Terms of employment
The employment is on full time, 37 hours per week and you will refer to Peter Kjær, Head of Department at IMT.
The position will be filled according to the Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities.
