Preservation Architect

Overview As a Preservation Architect you will play a critical role in preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the beautiful city of Faroe-Islands. Your main responsibility will be to provide architectural expertise and guidance on the conservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse of these structures while adhering to local regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough site visits and assessments of historical buildings to identify areas in need of preservation or restoration.

Work with project teams to develop plans for preservation, restoration, or adaptive reuse projects.

Collaborate with engineers, contractors and other professionals to ensure the structural integrity of historical buildings.

Conduct research on historical materials and techniques used in construction to inform preservation efforts.

Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and cost estimates for preservation projects.

Monitor progress of preservation projects and provide guidance as needed.

Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards throughout the project process.

Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and team members regarding project updates.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years experience working as an architect with a focus on preservation projects.

Knowledge of local building codes, historic preservation guidelines and conservation techniques.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
