Role Purpose
The role is responsible for aluminium extrusion focused Product Development in Rail Platform in Extrusion Europe, including feasibility studies and technical evaluation. Ensures compliance with quality standards, HSE regulations, and customer requirements.
Building up good customer relations in trust and collaboration. Understand the customer needs and translate them into the Hydro world, product design and drawings. Building the bridge between customer and fabrication plant.
What you will be doing
Evaluate new customer requests and perform feasibility and capacity assessments
Lead technical input for offers, including cost evaluation and specifications
Support product and profile design, engineering changes, and technical problem‑solving
Manage technical documentation (drawings, 3D data, specifications) and ensure data accuracy
Collaborate closely with Sales, Project Management, Controlling, and Operations
Build strong relationships with customers and participate in technical discussions
Contribute to pricing tools, cost optimisation, and value‑engineering initiatives
Ensure compliance with quality standards, HSE regulations, and customer requirements
What will make you successful
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar (Master’s preferred)
Experience in aluminium extrusion and/or product development (ideally in a project‑driven environment)
Strong understanding of structural mechanics and aluminium design principles
Familiarity with rail standards and product lifecycle processes
CAD/CAM knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes (extrusion, machining, welding, bending)
Excellent problem‑solving mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proactive, independent working style with strong collaboration skills
Fluent English (additional languages like German/French are a plus)
