Eurowind Energy is a Danish limited liability company, which over the years has become a leading developer and operator of photovoltaic, wind turbine, BESS and P2X projects. The company has more than 2.000 MW of operating assets under management in several countries across Europe and has been increasing its presence throughout the European market, including Portugal. The operations in the Southern European Region are run by the Portuguese office which also hosts a competence center for solar projects for the whole group.
Due to our recent growth in development, construction, and operation of renewable power plants, we are currently looking for a Project Developer for the Portuguese market. This job will offer the possibility of being part of a growing technical and commercial team, who backs other group’s affiliates while working on a fast-growing “startup environment” backed by a large international group.
Main responsibilities Based in Porto, the Project Developer will report to the Head of Business Development/Country Manager for Portugal.
Main duties and responsibilities are exclusively related to the Portuguese market and include:
Lead the environmental permitting strategy for utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid, battery, power-to-x and storage projects.
Lead and coordinate "Propostas de Definição de Âmbito" (PDA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes.
Support permitting strategies for the ongoing projects.
Coordinate multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultants throughout all permitting phases.
Support electrical licensing processes and coordinate with transmission and distribution network operators.
Support municipal planning and construction permitting activities.
Perform environmental, territorial and planning constraint assessments during the early project screening phase, identifying development risks and opportunities.
Work closely with GIS specialist and Land Manager to identify suitable development areas through spatial analysis and environmental constraint mapping.
Review technical studies and engineering documentation from a permitting perspective.
Act as one of the interfaces with APA, CCDR, ICNF, DGEG, municipalities and other permitting authorities.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Eurowind Energy's permitting standards, development processes and internal best practices. Working with the BD team in performing market analysis, feasibility, and risk assessment studies on projects
Assuring constant monitoring of the defined objectives for the role.
Profile This role will play a key role in the development of Eurowind Energy's renewable energy portfolio in Portugal. While its primary responsibility will be leading the environmental permitting strategy and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes for utility-scale renewable energy projects, it will also provide technical support across the broader project development lifecycle.
The ideal profile can recognize several of the following competencies:
Has, at least, 8 years of professional experience in environmental and permitting activities for renewable energy projects in Portugal.
Is fluent in Portuguese and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
Has solid and verifiable experience in green field renewable energies project development in Portugal from land scouting to RTB phase, incl. an in-depth knowledge of the Portuguese environmental permitting, knowing and complying with national, regional, and local regulation.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Is proficient in MS Office tools.
Has strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Has a university degree with strong academic credentials.
Furthermore, you could have experience/skills in:
Team management.
Written and oral communication in other languages.
Working in an international company headquartered out of Portugal.
