Job Description As the Hardware Team Lead , reporting to the Business Stream Automation Manager, you will provide technical and people leadership for a team of up to 4 Hardware Engineers and Specialists based in Aarhus. The Hardware team is responsible for the electrical design of our processing equipment, including electrical cabinets, motor control systems, instrumentation, power distribution, and machine interfaces. You will work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Automation Software Engineering, Manufacturing, and external panel-building suppliers to develop safe, compliant, and cost-effective machine solutions. You will act as the technical authority within Hardware Engineering, driving engineering standards, design quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across our product portfolio.

What You Will Do The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering responsibilities, including:

Electrical design and documentation in EPLAN

Electrical architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making

Functional Safety, machine safety, and EMC-compliant electrical design

UL508A, CE, EMC, and Machinery Regulation compliance

Technical guidance and mentoring of team members

Coordination with software, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers

Support of resource planning and competence development

Support and governance of external panel-building suppliers

This is primarily a technical leadership role. The successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to engineering activities, drive technical decisions, and elevate the technical competence of the Hardware team. While people leadership is part of the role, proven technical expertise within electrical machine design, compliance, and safety is considered essential.

Profile Description We believe you have:

You hold an Engineering degree or equivalent within Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field and have at least 10 years of experience with industrial electrical design and machine automation.

Previous people management experience is an advantage, but proven technical leadership is considered more important.

You Have Strong Knowledge Of Electrical design of industrial machinery and control panels

EPLAN Electric P8 and electrical documentation standards

UL508A and North American electrical requirements

IEC standards related to machinery and industrial automation

Machinery Regulation, CE compliance, EMC requirements, and risk assessments

Functional Safety and safety-related control systems

EMC principles, mitigation techniques, grounding, shielding, and industrial installation practices

Motor control systems, drives, instrumentation, and industrial power distribution

Collaboration with panel builders, suppliers, production, and cross-functional engineering teams

Business travels up to 10-20 days per year

Fluency in English is required. Danish is considered an advantage.
