Position Overview
The Branch Director (Depot Director) is responsible for the overall management and performance of depot operations within the assigned markets. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective depot operations, including fleet management, maintenance, charging infrastructure, logistics, and workforce management. The Depot Director plays a critical role in supporting business growth, service quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Depot Operations Management
Oversee daily operations of the depot, ensuring smooth vehicle dispatch, return, charging, and parking processes.
Ensure depot operations meet service level agreements (SLAs), safety standards, and company policies.
Optimize depot layout, workflows, and capacity utilization to support operational efficiency.
Fleet & Asset Management
Manage the condition, availability, and utilization of EV fleet, equipment, and depot assets.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repair, and cleaning activities to ensure fleet readiness and safety.
Monitor charging infrastructure performance and ensure efficient energy usage.
People & Team Management
Lead, manage, and develop depot teams, including supervisors, technicians, and operational staff.
Allocate manpower effectively, set performance targets, and conduct regular performance reviews.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Performance & Cost Management
Monitor key operational KPIs such as fleet availability, turnaround time, utilization rate, and cost efficiency.
Manage depot operating budgets and control costs related to maintenance, utilities, and manpower.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and service quality.
Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Fleet, Finance, HR, and Headquarters teams to support business objectives.
Provide regular operational reports, insights, and recommendations to management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Logistics, or related fields; Master’s degree is an advantage.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in depot, fleet, logistics, manufacturing, taxi or large-scale operations management, including senior leadership roles.
Proven experience operating within EU regulatory and labor frameworks.
Strong understanding of safety management systems, asset management, and operational KPIs.
Experience managing large, diverse teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a strong advantage.
