Senior Bookkeeper (Copenhagen based)
Overview:

We are looking for an experienced, full time Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations for our busy finance team in central Copenhagen. This is a senior, autonomous role for someone who can run the books end-to-end and act as a trusted right hand to finance leadership.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Own and manage day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities, maintaining accurate and audit-ready financial records
Maintain up-to-date financial data using Uniconta accounting software, including oversight of chart of accounts and posting standards
Process and oversee accounts payable, ensuring timely vendor payments and enforcing approval and cut-off procedures
Manage accounts payable related to operations and collections, in accordance with company policy
Manage and facilitate payments to staff, contractors, and suppliers in line with the company's approval processes
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and intercompany accounts across group entities
Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly management reports for review by finance leadership
Take ownership of VAT submissions (including cross-border and OSS reporting), year-end audits, and tax compliance
Review and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting policies, identifying process improvements
Mentor and review the work of junior bookkeeping or finance assistant staff, acting as a first point of escalation
Special Requirements:
Strong working knowledge of Uniconta, or proven ability to master new accounting software quickly
Deep understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial procedures, and month-end/year-end close processes
Experience with VAT, including cross-border VAT (Split VAT, OSS/Union Scheme) and Lønsumsafgift, is a strong advantage
Prior experience reconciling accounts for international or multi-entity companies
Familiarity with IFRS and general audit preparation
High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines across entities
Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend fixes
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership, while collaborating closely with the wider finance and leadership team
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders and external partners
Package:
Salary between 35,000 - 38,000, based on experience and qualifications
